Appearance:
Neko is short and thin, at 5 foot even and 100 pounds. He has very pale skin, sunken purple eyes and midnight black hair which is constantly a mess. He always wears a black priests coat, skinny jeans and black motorcycle boots. He carries a small black book with strange gold symbol with him everywhere.Personality:
Neko is generally always happy, with a half smile permanently attached to his face. He is rediculously friendly to even the most stoic strangers, but at the same time somehow manages to keep his history from his closest friends.History:
It takes ages to aggravate Neko even slightly and he is unaffected by most insults and taunts. His impossibly happy outlook is contrasted by his need to always be somewhere secluded or away from humanity. He likes to spend most of his time in the forest and Garden, despite the dangers he knows could follow him. Strangely, he has never been attacked.
The incessant call to the woods and darkness is caused by Neko's second, inner personality, which he named Orion. It is always whispering to him, even though he does his best to ignore. If, by some miracle, you were able to get him angry, Orion would take over. Orion is the embodiment of every last feeling of hate, sadness, or dejection that Neko has ever felt, so when he takes over, he can't make sane or rational decisions, no matter the situation.
Neko was an orphan from Russia. His only living relative was an old decrepit woman who claimed to be his great aunt. Despite claiming kinship, the woman wanted nothing to do with him. When he was old enough, she dropped him in the forest and left him for dead. This was about the time that Neko cut himself off from his anger and depression, causing Orion to appear in his mind. Because of Orion's constant whispering, Neko developed insomnia and hasn't slept since that first night in the forest. This is also the reason his eyes are sunken and surrounded by black.
Despite living in the forest for over a year before finding civilization, he was never attacked by anything. Even the animals avoided him, though he doesn't know why. When he came to town, the first thing he did was wobble into the first building he could find, which turned out to be the Blood Reign. The barkeep was surprised that he had turned up alive, since it was the middle of the night and the most dangerous time to be out. After having a quick drink and a meal, compliments of the house because he had no money, he went out to wander the streets again. Once again, he made it to his destination without incident, though he noticed things watching in the shadows.
He stumbled into a book store as the sun was rising and tried to sleep in one of the armchairs. When he couldn't sleep as usual, he opened his eyes to see that there was a small black book with a golden symbol etched in its cover sitting on his lap. Inside was a single word, scrawled over and over at the top of each page: Visage. He would later discover that Visage was the name of a vampire, but he never found out why the creature of the night hadn't killed him that fateful day. Since then he has only seen Visage a few times, between trees in the forest, quietly watching. Each time, he would nod solemnly and vanish.
Nowadays, Neko keeps himself alive and fed by pickpocketing and shoplifting. He has become very proficient in the trade and has learned almost every slight of hand that can be used to relieve someone of their belongings.
As a side note, Neko's insomnia leaves him very drained, so he eats a lot of sugary things to keep himself going. This is why he is always happy. If the sugar were to ever wear off he would become extremly irritable.
